Mountain Biking Backwater Powerlines

#70 of 98 mountain bike trails in Alabama
#11,229 in the world

There really is no specific route to take. You kinda make up you own. There are some trails that go in and out of the woods, but you have to really look for them. There is what we call the bowl. Nothing but steep dirt ramps and drops that vary in size. there is also some 4x4 trails that follow the power lines, but are eventually fenced off from going any farther unless you think other wise. Keep in mind that this place is used for unauthorized off-roading by various vehicles (4x4's, ATV's, Dirt bikes, etc.). All of this land is owned by Alabama Power.

Getting there
From the intersection fo Summerville Rd. and Pierce Rd. (known as Pierce Crossing). Go two miles west. At Lee Rd. 318 make sharp veer to the right off of Summerville Rd. Go about 2.75 miles and there will be an intersection of Lee Rd. 318 and a dirt road (no visible road number). At this intersection make a right going down the dirt road. After about 3/4 of a mile you will see the transfer power lines. Park where you'd like, but off of the road.
