Mountain Biking Twilight Bike Trail
#197 of 289 mountain bike trails in Florida
I stumbled onto this one while riding Munson Hills. There is a West and East Connector trail that connects to Twilight. To me, Twilight is nicer than Munson Hills. It's fairly much a beginner trail in that there is no real technical stuff, but it's 9.5 miles long which is a good workout. This trail goes behind the burms of the Crawfordville shooting range. So they are actually shooting in your direction. Gotta put lots of faith in those who engineered that place, huh?

Located on US 319 South (Crawfordville Highway). It's in Wakulla State Forest right beside the St Mark's paved bike trail. There are two ways to get to it. Either use the THD of Munson Hills and go left. You'll see the East Connector sign which will take you to Twilight. The main trailhead is located behind the ball parks a couple of miles down the St. Marks paved Bike trail.
This trail isn't very technical, but it is difficult. The sugar sand that proliferates it gives you a real workout, especially when climbing, and makes some of the corners rather exciting. It's best ridden after a good rainfall when the sand is somewhat hard.
Thank |This trail is hard to rate properly. There are no obstacles other than the occasional small root, however, this trail seems to be relatively unmaintained. The brush on the sides is so overgrown your pedaling into it on both sides constantly while getting smacked in the legs, arms, and hands with bushes. The base is very sandy, however, it's covered by straw pine, so good luck planing a line.
Thank |Just a nice trail to ride. Very easy. You have a few sand spots but other than that enjoy.
Thank |This trail is ok, it is fairly flat and sandy. From the Munson trail head, it was 10.8 miles to ride the loop, which is a pretty good work out because it is mostly sugar sand.
Thank |You can mix and match this with Munson to get in a lot of miles or ride a lot of variations. Some ups and downs, but nothing serious. No technical features unless a tree falls on the path. Sandy like Munson, so it rides faster after a rain. Some call it road biking in the woods.
