Mountain Biking The Celery Fields
#179 of 289 mountain bike trails in Florida
This trail is great for short rides before or after work. They have cut some new trails along the side that make it so you don't have to walk your bike up the mound the whole time.

Take Cattlemen Rd. (from North or South) to Palmer Blvd. going East. Drive about 1/2 mile till you see a gazebo on the North side. Park there. There is a mound running North/South that you can access from there.
Good for beginners but really is boring/not challenging for intermediate and up riders
Thank |It was ok. Easy, gravely, a bit of a hill climb at the start, but a real short ride. Nice view of the countryside.
Thank |To many people standing in the path. Great climbs but you can destroy your bike pretty easy on them. I'll stick with Balm and Alafia....
Thank |Went by today to check it out since there hadn't been any reviews in quite a while. It was raining pretty good so I didn't get to ride, but the park looks really good overall. Site also has bathrooms now. Everything seemed rather well groomed.
Thank |I figured I would post a new review on this "trail" as both of the existing ones are 4 years old.
First off, I've been coming here at least once a week for the last 6 months or so (which includes summer months) and haven't seen any high weeds or overgrown anything as the previous reviewer stated, so apparently this issue has been addressed. These trails are all gravel and they are pretty well maintained. About the only issue I've run into is after a hard or prolonged rain the trails get rutted up. I personally don't mind because it makes the trails a little more challenging but some may have a problem with it.
For a pretty good little workout try taking the grassy trail that goes straight up the hill immediately after leaving the parking area. Once at the top all the trails are connected so it doesn't really matter which way you go... head toward the back side. About 3/4 of the way back take one of the trails that goes down the left side of the hill (I usually take the first one after the park bench, it seems to be the fastest and longest) all the way to the bottom. Turn around and go back up on the back side of the hill, this is a gravel trail and is pretty steep and rutted up so ride in the grass just off the trail if you have trouble finding traction. After reaching the top again, make you're way back toward the front side, if there aren't too many people I usually use the grassy trail to go back down, if that's no good take the gravel trail to you're right. Rinse and repeat... I can usually get 5 or 6 laps in before crying uncle.
This place is unique, it's the only place that I know of around here that has any kind of elevation change at all. Not saying it compares to Alafia or Boyette for fun and trail length but it makes a pretty good place to get you're fitness level up, especially if you're planning a trip somewhere where the trails might actually go higher than a few feet above sea lvl...
Thank |The trails are completly over grown with weeds that are 8' high! You can still find your way around but it is not easy and there are a lot of dips and holes that you can't see because of the over growth. If the trails where in better condition it might not be to bad of a ride but as of now they are almost useless.
Thank |Good place to start for someone new to mountain biking.
