Mountain Biking Broadneck Warm-up
#52 of 99 mountain bike trails in Maryland
Update: "Please be advised that under current Anne Arundel County Law, biking (motorize or not) off of a paved surface in a County Park is prohibited."
Trail is predominately an out and back trail, but there are a few alternate trails which loop back to the main trail. Trails has no markings, but are relatively well traveled and easy to see. There are a few obstacles such as fallen trees and stream crossings, but overall pretty easy riding. Good afterwork trail or for testing out new gear before your next epic ride. Should be able to ride all trails in less than an hour.

From Annapolis take Rt 50 East and exit at Bay Dale Drive. Cross back over Rt 50 and continue 2 miles to the intersection of Bay Dale Dr and College Parkway. Turn Left onto College Parkway south approximately 1 mile, turn right onto Shore Acres Rd. Follow 1.5 miles, turn left into Broadneck Elementary School. Park at the far left side of the lot near the woods. You will see trail head directly behind the lot.

Local trail behind a school. It too demanding, but there were a few times when I stopped my bike and said "nope." and walked it across.
My big complaint - trail is not marked. I was literally lost! Ran out of water and took me forever to find "civilization!"
I don't think I'll be back.
Thank |I don't know if I started at the wrong trail head, but this trail had terrible signage. I parked on the far end lot of broadneck elementary school and after about 35min of riding a voice in my head said "turn around".
Thank |An awesome trail, a real gem in the Broadneck area. A well thought out with great flow! Thank you to all involved it the trails construction and maintenance.
Thank |One of my favorite tracks. Good spot to become one with your bike. Has a little bit of everything.
Thank |Thanks unnamed trail builder. I went back there today and was happy to see the trees cleared and the addition of pallets!
Thank |Great for local riders. I'm out there almost every day before work. There are a few short trails that can be as easy or difficult as you like. I usually take a 1.6 mile loop with some really steep climbs that have me pretty whipped by the end.
Thank |It was short but I had fun there today.
Thank |Great for being close to the area!
Thank |Entered on greenhill court by playground, as riding thru found another entrance at Broavdneck elm student drop off
Thank |This is a great place for after work. I go here when I can and being a newb this trail is great! It has some spots I have to walk. But finding them to be a little less than at first.
Thank |Would benefit from more riders and a few strategic cleanups in a few spots... Certainly nothing crazy, and good for an after work ride just to let off some steam...
Thank |The main trail is a 1.1 mile loop. Some climbing, some drops. Great for laps workout. Some pellet gun shooting at the entrance.
Edit: Trail is a 1.15 mile loop but there are a few alternate trails which loop back to the main trail. Trails has no markings, but are relatively well traveled and easy to see. There are a few obstacles such as fallen trees and stream crossings, but overall pretty easy riding. Good after work trail or for testing out new gear before your next epic ride. Should be able to ride all trails in less than an hour.
Thank |shaky little network. very short. actually has a lot of potential but it doesn't appear to be maintained of ridden very much. paintball played at entrance so be careful.
Thank |I'd describe this spot as a decent after work stress reliever, great for conditioning if you're local but not something you'd want to make a day of...you'll get bored quickly. The main trail is a loop but there are several "off the beaten path" options that provide a small amount of variety. Obstacles include downed trees and creek crossings, you should be able to stay on your seat for most of the ride though. re: Peak's comment on the trail ending after 50yds. I had that problem too. Ride behind the school and you'll find another trailhead. * Review edited 7/13/2011
Thank |I like it, good for training, and short rides.
Thank |Just needs more riders.
