Mountain Biking Denton Greenbelt
#128 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
The is a out and back trail from either entrance, Denton or Sanger. It is a mostly flat service road that is both dirt and small rocks. There is a fair amount of trees that cover the trail near both Sanger and Denton, but in between expect the sun and wind to hit you square. Some hikers and even the occassional horse to dodge.

There are 3 entrances to the Denton Greenbelt: Denton, from I-35 exit HWY 380 and head East through town for approx. 10 miles. Once you pass Loop 288 the access park will be on your left within 5 minutes. If you can see the lake on your right you have just passed the entrance. Sanger, from I-35 exit FM 455 and head East. After you pass the dam the Elm Fork Park entrance to the Greenbelt will be on your right very quickly. The 3rd entrance is right in the middle of Denton and Sanger so it would be better to start the ride from the aforementioned cities.
Under construction and looks like it'll be fun once done.
Thank |No This trail isnt Extreme well other than the length but thats not the point of the trail its about endurance of if you can ride the bike that far and for that long its great for getting into shape just bring plenty of Water, Gatorade, and Energy Bars
Thank |This trail is very family friendly and great to get some distance in. It's not technical at all, so don't go expecting this! The 380-428 section is the best, but it's a nice 20 miler if you go all the way out and back! Watch for all sorts of wildlife (deer, armadillo, squirrels, hawks, etc). Enjoy!
Thank |The trees that used to cover the trail in Denton have been cut way back off the trail. Totally ruined the shade.
Thank |I wouldn't even call this a mountain bike trail. It is basically a flat dirt road. I took my wife there once, she liked it but I was bored out of my mind.
Thank |During the week the greenbelt is almost completely empty but during the weekend there are families to dodge. It's an easy ride with some tree cover and plenty of open area for the sun and wind to get you.
