Mountain Biking Town Lake Hike And Bike

#63 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas

Enjoy Austin as you cruise around the lake and Zilker Park, then cool off at Barton Springs Pool. Two way loop with plenty of ways to lengthen or shorten the ride. Lots of local food and even a few live music venues within earshot. Can be extremely crowded in the morning.

A Austin staple. It's a 10.2 mile loop of smooth, well groomed crushed granite trail/ sidewalk combo.
It even has a over water boardwalk.
SIMPLE and very EASY trail for all ages.
Took me about 45 minutes to complete the 10 .2 mile Loop.

Great city trail that is only getting better. Lots of joggers and families strolling, so be cautious. Spectacular views and great terrain. It's under construction in a few spots where it gets a little dicey with the crowds of outdoorsy types. Soon it will be incredible upon the finish of the entire Lake, including a huge boardwalk.

It is a long gravel path. Rolling hills, but mostly flat. The path has some nice scenery, and plenty of walkers and joggers. Unless you just wanted a good cardio ride, I would just take the road bike out there.
