Mountain Biking Brazos Bend State Park
#116 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
This trail is mostly made up of a wide, gravel path, some road, but little singletrack. It has nice scenery, and alligator sightings are likely. This ride is very flat and easy (and probably boring for some), but it is great for a family ride, and you get to get out on your bike and see some pretty cool stuff. Take the trails around 40 Acre, Elm, and Hale Lakes if you want the best chance to see the gators. Note: there are more than 8 miles of trail here. The 8 miles describes the trails around the lakes mentioned earlier.

From Houston, take U.S. 59 south to Richmond, and then head south on FM 762. Take this 20 miles to the park road. Past headquarters, park in the first parking area you see on your left. The trail begins to the right of the rest rooms, across a small wooden bridge.
