(Bonus points if you can pronounce it) This trail system consists of 8 major loops ranging in length from 1to 6 miles and varying in difficulties with many interconnecting loops with construction continuing on new routes. These trails are cut with a cat and designed for x-country skiing and are actually wider than your average forest service road but without any vehicle tracks. Mostly hard clay type surface that can be very slick after a rain. The Wolverine trail has a mix of hard clay and sand. Most trails have winding climbs and down hills all surrounded by thick forest. There are more trails and the area is bigger than the map/trail sign p***osted. As a distance perspective starting near the school (bottom of the map), I rode the Bear loop and it measured a little more than 4 miles.
This is a great practice/ workout ride area close to town without the pavement or road traffic of other trails in the area.
Positive: There are a variety of trails to take in the system. Good place for the beginners or for families with young children
Negative: The trails are very wide and boring to say the least.
Thank |More and more trail being constantly added including the Mosquito single track which has a black diamond Rays Rampage for the less timid who like to bash roots and stumps. Races and socials through the the year and some pretty steep hills to keep your edge make it a great place to train or just get some exercise after work or if you're not up to a drive to the mountains. Getting better all the time.
Thank |The Tsalteshi Trails are great, wide trails and are good for biking with a group. Tsalteshi is not one trail, but a trail system, with about 10 miles of trails altogether. The different trails very in difficulty in terms of grade, from very steep to virtually flat, but there are not many roots to speak of. Very nice trails for a variety of bikers.
Thank |Great Bike Trail, a lot of diversity on this trail. Challenging hills and technical corners. Sand on some downhill corners can be a little b*** puckering. What a beautiful trail and great workout!
