Mountain Biking Barber Lake
#55 of 256 mountain bike trails in Wyoming
This trail follows Libby Creek, and is a rocky combination of old forest Rd, doubletrack, and some singletrack. It is well signed and marked with blue diamonds. For those faint of heart, it might best be ridden as a loop taking Barber Lake Rd uphill -> US 130 -> Green Rock Picnic Area and riding Barber Lake Trail back down to Barber Lake. Libby Creek Loop is an extra loop off of Barber Lake Trail near the Green Rock Picnic Area. The Corner Mountain trail system is also accessible from the Barber Lake area from Barber Lake road just above and below the lake and makes for a longer ride.

Take US 130 30mi west from Laramie, past Centennial into the Medicine Bow Mountains. Access the trail from the Green Rock Picnic Area on US 130 about 6 miles west of of the USFS visitor center west of Centennial. Or, access the trail from Barber Lake, ie, after passing the USFS visitor center on US 130, take a left on Barber Lake Rd which takes you to Barber Lake after about 2 miles. The Green Rock Picnic Area is well marked on the left of US 130. The trail at Barber Lake starts on a maintanence road going west; look for the blue diamonds.
This is still a rippin' downhill. Libby Creek loop is a little wet yet with some snow (6.17.07). Let off the brakes, pick your way through the rocks, and let'er rip! The only drawback is its too short. Definately connect with Corner Mountain trails.
