Multiuse trail that follows the Minnesota River through oak-savannah from Belle Plain to Chaska, MN. Wide doubletrack that sometimes lacks a hardpack trail, but is usually mowed. Can be sandy in some spots. Scenic views of the River. There are some camping areas, and access points to National Wildlife Refuges (e.g., Louisville Swamp) and other public lands and trail systems. This trail runs along the Minnesota River from Belle Plain to Chaska, with a paved path from Chaska to Shakopee. Trail can be accessed from any road that crosses the River because the trail will cross too. Major access points are: SH 25 in Belle Plain; CR 57 northeast of Belle Plain; CR 45 and 9 at Thomson Ferry between Jordan and Carver; SH 41 in Chaska, and other access points in Chaska. All of these roads intersect US 169 that follows the river on the southeast; the trail is between US 169 and the river.
