Mountain Biking Brush Mountain
#85 of 300 mountain bike trails in Virginia
This trail is a network of great trails and climbs. Well marked and the perimeter loop features a very nice climb to the top of Brush Mountain. Epic downhills abound at this point complete with creek crossings. The bottom of the downhills is a great network of trails from medium to more difficult. This is a must stop for those in the area. the Virginia Tech campus is nearby and this Jefferson Forest Park is sweet for all riders. It can get tough in the climbs but is well worth it.
Mostly singletrack but also features some doubletrack and fireroad in the network. You will want to come back!

On Route 460 just NW around 4 miles of Blackbrg, VA. Find the area labeled Pandapas Pond Park with parking. You can also enter and park on fireroad 188.2 closer to Blacksburg or take this old fireroad to the top of the climb and park in the circle. I recommend using the Pandapas Pond Park as your main entry point.
great trail
Thank |great trail system, but definitely over-played: too few trails for a huge user base. Residents, help out with maintenance and responsible use.
Best approach is from town, up old farm trail and work your way over to the other side where the trails have a few more features and see less use. There are several secret trails that descend from the top of brushy that are the most rewarding. There's a total of 6 descents from the top road.
Thank |This trail has some of the fastest single track downhill sections. The lower network is fun and casual. You pass by streams and campgrounds. If you climb up the mountain you are in for some great downhill sections which can get very narrow and technical. If you want some sick uphill try climbing jacob's ladder. Any mountain biker living in Blacksburg is lucky because this trail is always entertaining.
