Some of the best riding on the front range, mix of singletrack, fireroad, as much technical as you want, as much uphill as you want....and down !

System trails (11)
It's a must do! If you want to ride any of the good trails that is, as it's the primary access to the West side.
Thank |Someone cleaned this trail up after a season of too much rain and took some of the character out of it. It is starting to come back now. Super fast, with some tech thrown in.
Thank |Fun trail. Bring cash for the pay lot.
Thank |Pretty fun, but a bit technical
Thank |Hit west trail and east trail loop.
Thank |It was a lot of fun. new to the mtb scene an road biker so not a lot to compare to.
Amazing riding 10 minutes outside Fort Collins. Highly recommend riding Wathen in the downhill direction. Trails are well marked but a map is helpful to find your way back to the trailhead.
There are certainly sections of trail that are almost unridable due to large rocks and loose conditions, but overall these trails are a ton of fun with endless views of the city or RMNP. If you park in the main parking area, be prepared for a lung buster up the gravel road. Don't worry though, it's worth it!
Thank |Nomad was a great way to get back to the Jeep after riding through the rest of the park. It was a fun, easy and flowy little piece of singletrack through a meadow with some cool views of one of Horsetooth's inlets. Several people had mentioned seeing rattlesnakes on trail during the course of the day, but we didn't run into any.
Thank |Totally agree with the others - this is a lung buster - but oh so worth the climb as it is the backbone of the trail system. The trail is pretty wide but the grade is steep - enjoy!
Thank |Rode downhill from Tower trail.
Lots of rocks, roots, water bars etc.
Didn't really enjoy it at all.
Absolutely do not recommend riding up this - would be tough going.
Quite a few hikers on this trail, as it is near the falls.
Thank |A necessary Evil.
Thank |A shuttle service would be awesome... But in our dreams.
Rode "down hill" from Mill Creek trail.
Thank |Nothing special - preferred stout trail
Good singletrack with a reasonable mix of obstacles, but nothing unbearable
Thank |Quite technical - rocks, roots, drops, water bars.
Very quiet - no hikers etc
A few loose sections.
Fun, but it keeps you awake!
I rode downhill from towers trail. Not sure how fun it would be as a climb - less, I think.
Thank |Rode up-hill from south ridge.
Thank |More interesting and challenging, in comparison.
Technical difficulty is getting up there - keeps you awake!
Fewer walkers on this trail.
It is not super-fun, but it must be done to get out of the trail-head.
Thank |Steady gradient allows a tempo, and just keep on pedalling!
I parked at the listed trail head (horsetooth mountain)' which does not seem to be recommended as your only option is South Ridge both out and back.
Great mix of trails of varying difficulty, in a fantastic natural environment. Like the atmosphere of the place.
Trails are well marked.
Lots of hikers around horsetooth rock. Most seemed to be young, hot females on a weekday - so I was unnaturally lost, and prepared to ask for directions for a change! Lol
Thank |Cool singletrack in the Horsetooth system. Best ridden west to east.
Thank |This is the standard ascent route at Horsetooth. It's wide and well groomed, but is bottom gear steep.
Thank |This park is awesome, but not for the bronchially challenged. We rode the twin loops as they are described in the new CO guide by Hickstein. He puts a lot of thought into his routes.
Thank |It's short and can be ridden either up or down.
