Mountain Biking Lake Bistineau State Park
#17 of 51 mountain bike trails in Louisiana
Fun trail for beginners. Has one one mile of slightly technical area. Can be a fast trail if you want to make it. It is not all single track, but none of the track is on road. Trail can be a little confusing. Do not go after it has rained because trail can get muddy.

Horseflys are the sux. Very basic beginner trails. Well marked.

Thank |Open now but needs a lot of riders to whip it into shape! Their funding has been cut dramatically and they are relying on volunteers to keep the trail up.

Thank |Closed until further notice due to State funding issues and flooding damage
Thank |Pretty flat. A bit confusing. However, easy to ride and enjoyable. Not to hard to navigate yourself. Campground right there is a nice touch. I plan to ride there again.
Thank |Well after buying my first bike, I was told to try this trail out first. It stretches out to around 10 miles and is fairly flat. I was hoping for more banks/jumps, but it was overall fun. It's gives a great aerobic workout.* Review edited 10/19/2011
Thank |Rode this trail today. It's true it is a good trail for beginners but it is layed out to allow the rider to get a good workout. You can pedal hard on most of it. there are a few spots with tight twisty turns that slow you down but they are usually followed by some type of a climb. they will give you a map for it and the trail was very well marked. It's worth riding if you are close by and need a workout.
Thank |This was our first MTB trail since we purchased our Specialized bikes. The trail was very fun and not too difficult.
The trail is basically a long loop, but you do come out to the pavement and go thru a bike path to continue. This made it perfect for the times you would need a break.
This trail is full of tree roots which were not diffucult to ride over, but there were some natural drain ditches that were almost a V shape which we just walked our bikes over to avoid going over the handle bars.
Very fun trail and a good workout!* Review edited 6/15/2009* Review edited 6/15/2009
