Mountain Biking Taunus
#17 of 151 mountain bike trails in Germany
From the Sandplacken trailhead you have an entire network of trails available. They are all very well marked by little shapes of animals (such as a fox, eagle, deer antlers, etc...). I usually started with the fox and rode to the top of the Grosser Feldberg which is the highest peak (actually a big forested hill) in the Frankfurt area. All the trails are somewhat wide, well maintained and easy. There are some good climbs and downhills.

From Franfurt take autobahn A66 west to B8. Go north about 7 miles to Koenigstein and continue on B8 another couple miles and take a right to the Feldberg (a tiny ski area in the winter). A couple more miles past the Feldberg takes you to Sandplacken. There's a parking area and trailhead there.
