Mountain Biking Trestle Bike Park

*****   Add a review
#17 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#77 in the world

This park has everything! Great downhill's for the extremist, long networks for the cross country rider, and trails for beginners. The lift ticket is fairly inexpensive (around $20), and if need be there are plenty of networks around the area that don't require a lift ticket. Nevertheless, the most fun I had was on "The Downhill" run. It is rated as a black diamond and for good reason. The trail consists of large jumps, gapped jumps, and park like obstacles that you must ride over and around. No worries if you don't have a full suspension bike, I have a hard tail and it was plenty for the challenge. Make sure you are comfortable on you bike before you try this trail. Nonetheless, the extremist will not be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite lines at Trestle. It is a long jump line of table tops.

Great park. Great facilities. Rode everything from Green to double black and enjoyed it all. Definitely aimed at more advanced riders. Would hope they build more greens and blues in the future for beginner riders

A little bit of everything rolled into this trail. Beware: that includes some climbing!

I will start out by saying that I really had the time of my life! It was my first time doing downhill and it truly was a blast!

I had some personal issues going on because I am 52yo and I am well overweight and I already did not sleep well the 2 nights prior to the trip and then we pretty much drove straight through from Dallas to Trestle. I was a blob of fatigue, hurt and zombiefied. We stopped at Angelfire first and I only managed to muster enough gumption to do 2 runs and felt near dead. Angelfire trails were really rough and very hard to ride. They required constantly maintaining a firm grip and in particular for a novice like myself to DH biking, constantly scrubbing speed. On top of everything was that I was on an All-mountain bike, that did not have that nice slack head angle so the front end was digging right into that rough surface and biting hard into those turns. In any case, I survived my first very difficult go at DH at Angelfire and we headed to Trestle. By day two I had slouphed off some of that fatigue but my thigh muscles were still way below par. So I I got my lift tickets and some body armor and I lifted up to the top and GreenWorld here I go. It was right off the bat an much easier surface trail wise to negotiate and that helped a lot. I was able to focus more on developing good sound DH skills like maintaining body position, looking further ahead, and good braking practices. I really started to progress and by the next day I was riding Rainmaker. Overall it was a very moving experience, I only wish we had come straight to Trestle instead of stopping at Angelfire first. There were some places on a couple of the single black and the blue trails where it was supposed to be flowy and it was a little more rough for lack of trail maintenance but for the most part I would definitely say that the trails that I rode overall were in pretty good shape! It was so much fun and in those mountains a truly spiritual experience. Going back next June and I can't wait!

This was my first trip to a downhill park and OMG it is the best fun I've ever experienced. The trails are extremely well maintained (rode blue and black), the conditions yesterday (7/30/17) were perfect, and everything was absolutely mind-blowing fun.
If you haven't done it, get off your ass and go...you won't be disappointed!

My son and I visited Trestle because of the great reviews.....the park lived up to it's rating; it is a phenomenal bike park! The terrain is varied and lengthy but caters mostly to intermediate and very strong riders. We left feeling that this was a great place to ride DH bikes all day, although we managed just fine on our AM and Enduros.

Great big general trial for downhill. There are a few rough sections that can give your hands a workout. With that said, this is a great trail.

Green World was my first introduction to downhill mountain biking. We had a blast and rode this trail 3 times....until our hands hurt. This trail is probably a little tough for raw beginners, but get a little fast flowing singletrack experience under your belt and you too could have a blast....but not until next year (unless you want to climb to the top manually!!!).

One of the best days ever for me on a bike. Beautiful vistas and trails for every level of experience. Glad I had the pads and helmet on though because is does get pretty gnarly in spots but the good kind of gnarly.

I loved every minute of this trail. It was my first time mountain biking in Colorado and couldn't have started at a better place! I had a little experience since I was younger through trail riding. I started on the blues then was flying down the blacks by the end of the day! I recommend this to anyone who has a passion and a wild side to ride! I will definitely come back again and again!

Great Bike Park, was there for opening day and was not disappointed. Something for everyone in my opinion, staff was very friendly and the village is a nice rest stop. Definitely a repeat adventure in the summer.

Great collection of trails that Winter Park has. You can ride anything from a beginner trail to a trail that will scare the pants off of you. The features they have are absolutely awesome and will leave you with a smile on your face. For some of the more advanced trails you will either need a downhill bike with 6+ inches of travel or you will have to walk your bike around the larger features. The rating system they have on the trails I found to be very accurate so stay within your ability level or you will end up walking your bike down.

You don't have to by a lift ticket to have a good time, go hit up all the XC trails and enjoy good ol mountain biking at it's finest. Climb up a mountain and bomb down smiling.

Fantastic experience! First time on a dowhill course. Excellent trails and very ridable black and double black diamonds. Everything from a novice to extreme dowhiller. You can roll just about every obsticle if need be. Trestle has some narly dowhills and a few sections deserving of chicken route. Rainmaker was the best one of the day for me. I rode my regular set-up cross country without all of the dowhill protective gear. Although I would sugest otherwise, I found the trails quite managable (also kept me from jumping some of the big stuff). This is something that I would recommend to every single track junky.

Rode Icarus Rd all the way up on the Mary Jane side of the mountain, climb climb climb, then got to hit the DH trails on the way down. Ridiculously fun, and a good way to avoid buying a lift ticket. Although the climb up was a bear - beautiful, long, steep, but no people, which was great. the DH stuff is amazing.

Incredible DH trail system at Trestle Mountain Bike Park PLUS hundreds of miles of XC trails in the area. We got the Trestle 101 package which included rentals, lift ticket, and DH instruction which taught us a lot and was a great value. If you live anywhere nearby you need to hit this at least once every summer!

Great Super-D training. Several trails to choose from, with plenty of variety. None of the trails I rode on were very technical, but if you are looking to improve your DH skills, this is the place.

Just a note about the resort area riding starting this season: It's only downhill traffic only on the trails. If you are a XC type and actually ride UP the mountain, then you have to ride the service roads. Trails like Long Trail are now closed to uphill traffic. It sucks that the resort is doing this! Good thing there is other good riding nearby.

Whether purchasing a lift ticket and riding on the mountain itself, or riding the trails in the valley, the Winter Park area has some of the most fun mountain biking I've ever done. With over 600 miles of trails, the valley has terrain for everyone, and it's very easy to spend a couple days riding here. Be sure to participate in the Fat Tire Classic sometime, it's a great weekend of Winter Park Mountain Biking.* Review edited 5/29/2007

A must do is to follow the point to point race (King of the Rockies) which goes up Tipperary Creek, down Blue Spruce Creek, go up Vasquez Creek Road a bit and cross the creek, eventually putting you on Flume and Chainsaw. Now you are at the Winter Park base. This in itself makes a very nice loop if you started at the base. But from here the race climbs up and comes back down some ski area trails. However, the best riding at the ski area is way up high where the faint of heart tread less.
