Mountain Biking Big Finn Hill

****   Add a review
#32 of 1,216 mountain bike trails in Washington

Located just to the south of St. Edwards. Several long circular routes. Some exciting down-hill sprints leading to very challenging up-hill grunt work. A couple of nice jumps can be found. Watch out for dogs walking their masters!

March 3 trail conditions are great! After several sunny days, everything is dried out, there is no trail snow and all downed trees from the winter storms are cleared out. The smaller evergreen debris is still there in places, but that's all. Someone needs to post a new photo though because I'm not sure where the bridge shown is or if it even exists anymore. There are, however, two very sturdy large railed bridges built insummer 2018 to cross the swamp, down below the lacrosse fields.

Good, quick, easy, fast, and curvy. No really long climbs or descents. Overall great for my son who's just getting into MTB.

Great set of trails, quick ride but worth it, popular with hikers as well so watch out for people.

Well maintained trails, but with no posted trail map. The parking area is very nice with soccer/soft ball fields and a big playground. Once I got into the trails and started to get things figured out I had a lot of fun and was able to connect up to St Edwards State Park for some extra miles. Good place for all levels.

Directions from this site take you to St. Edward Park NOT Big Fin!

Great trails with few obstacles. Trails are well groomed and for the most part dry even after rains. Not much in the way of fast single track but all skill levels will have fun here. On weekends there is a lot of foot traffic so you have to watch your speed. There is lots of parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the park.

Got to Big Finn by was of St. Edwards Park trails and they was much more going in the way of roots, some obsticals (which you could easily go around if you weren't ready to take them on), drops, and the like. Was pretty challenging for me as I am still pretty new but I still had a lot of fun and felt really good after riding the trails. You could easily spend a couple hours between the two parks and have a lot of fun doing so.

Im from the midwest, so the diffferent eco system is cool. However small area that is better suited for hiking than biking. Came accross multiple dog walkers (that dont pick up their crap).

Many improvement to the area, including a fantastic bridge across the creek built by a volunteer crew from Kirkland Bicycles

We started off in St. Edwards and took the trail to Big Finn along Janita Dr. We didn't get to ride around to much due to time restrictions, but had a blast. I thought it was cool how the trails seemed to circle back to the center where there were a couple of nice jumps and a table top (had to avoid due to just getting used to clip in peddles). I would like to get back down there sooner then later, for a close drive and some good trails I would highly recommend it!

It was nice to ride this park again. Ive had users on here question the official location of this trail so after further research today I learned the park actually straddles the line between having a Bothell and a Kirkland address, although its closer to Kenmore in reality (go figure). I prefer to park in the Supermarket parking lot on the corner of Jaunita Dr & 145 ave (say hi to the hottie in the espresso stand, she rides too!) and enter the woods across the street and ride south. The trail to the north from here that leads to St Edwards Park is a very fun trail so do it at least once too.
Even after a wet winter these trails are in great shape, and its obvious they get a lot of traffic. there have been a few new trails put in and some re-routing of others done around a couple problem spots. The brush and all but one of the downed trees have been cut away and in 10 miles of trails I didn’t see any trash! My hats off to the locals who maintain & ride this area with respect.

A good "in-town" ride. Various loops can be linked together for variation. Could use some features liked banked turns, more drops, skinnies, etc. to make things more interesting.

A great after work ride or practice trail system which ever you prefer. Many intersecting trails makes for a longer and ever changing ride. Maps posted at major trailheads. Plenty of roots and logs and a bit muddy this time but definitely ride-able.
