Mountain Biking Scotts Run / Hinman Creek

This trail is a mixture of singletrack, and forest service road. Begin on Seedhouse Road and go north on Wyoming Trail 1101 and follow for several miles north as it traverses large sections of burn zone. The ascent is gradual and should be fairly easy for most riders. You will cross at the bridge and follow the forest service road for about a mile or so and keep to the left whenever possible.

You will eventually see a small sign that is Trail 1177. This begins the singletrack again, and this becomes a mixture of stretches of fun, fast singletrack and slow rocky technical sections. When you get to the creek crossing you have a very steep climb which will probably require some bike pushing. Once at the top though, you are treated to some nice forest riding and Aspen groves. There is a nice place to stop at Hinman Lake (you should see it through the trees). The final descent is pretty good, and it puts you out on another forest service road. Go right, and follow back to Seedhouse Road, and thus back to the car.

Overall this is a pretty good trail if you are out in the Steamboat area. It is fairly technical in places, and thus can be a bit dangerous. There are some rocky sections that are impossible to ride which are near a cliff edge. Luckily these sections are few and short however. The rest of the trail is generally good singletrack.
