Mountain Biking Archie's Loop
#121 of 709 mountain bike trails in Utah
Archie's Loop Trail, a 2.2 mile stretch of mountain biking/hiking trail, recently opened up totally new country. The intermediate-level trail runs from Scott's Pond loop to connect with the Boneyard loop about 1/2 mile from the base. Panoramas from this trail are unsurpassed. From a single vantage point, you have a clear view of Mt. Timpanogos, Provo Peak, Cascade Peak, Provo Canyon, North Fork Canyon, Deer Creek Reservoir, and the Heber valley.

Route details
Ride Ray's Lift to the Drive Station. Beginning at #3, ride down Sunnyside Road past #7, and around the corner to the intersection at #10. Make a 180-degree bend to the lower road and follow it to #4 (just before Flathead Lift). Turn left, then bear left again at #5. Follow the old logging road to #6 and bear right onto the single track.
Descending through the meadow, you will eventually come to #31. Turn left onto Archieís Loop. It takes you through the maples and across the south-facing slope to intercept the ridgeline overlooking North Fork Canyon. Continue around to the north-facing sideway above the road, and ride through the stands of old-growth forest until you connect with the Boneyard Loop at #30. Turn right and follow this loop back to the paved maintenance road at #27. Turn right again and descend to the base. Please watch for cars on this section, and be very careful on the horseshoe bend at the bottom.
