Mountain Biking Stecoah Gap
#282 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
This is a great trail to ride after a long day at Tsali, or even a great trail for a quick ride after work. The elevation starts at 3165 ft and gradually winds up the mountain to Stecoah Bald. The entire four miles to the top/end is uphill but it is all worth it when you begin to return down the hill. Great views, awesome downhill, and tight singletrack near the top. Be sure to go all the way to the top, as the downhill from the bald has several whoop-to-doos.

"From Bryson City, follow Hwy. 74 W towards Nantahala. Go right on Hwy. 28 N towards Robbinsville. Go about 10 miles, left on NC Hwy. 143 (follow signs to Robbinsville. Go about 3 miles. Trailhead is on the left with a parking area where the Appalachian trail crosses the highway. Ride around the gate onto the overgrown forest road.
