This loop takes just about an hour and can be ridden either way, both directions will include some great downhill or push a bike sections (Hamby Hill and Pine Winder). The trails are somewhat documented on maps that may be available from the City of Montesanon Forestry Department (Pine Winder excluded). The Lake Silvia area also includes a great loop of the Silvia East Fork trail, Cougar Ridge and back either the West Fork trail (old RR spur following the creek--can be mud bog from ATV use) or back on the X-line to the A-line dumping you out in the middle of the Silvia Ridge trail. Have fun, buy a State of Washington season parking pass (it is revenue enhancement time in our state managed resources) and I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Awesome area with a little something for everyone. You can grind away all day up there on logging roads and single track. Print off the trail maps in the pics section, or stop by Montesano City Hall for paper copies.
Thank |Lake Sylvia has some great technical trails. Tight and winding trails. some surprise 4ft drops just to keep you on your toes. Another nice thing that I thought was great, was all the different trail spurs, maybe half mile long but they come out of every where you just have to keep your eyes open and look around. After a great day of riding they have a real nice camp ground to go back to and build a fire, talk about the day and where you might ride tomorrow .
Thank |Super fun, dry, tight in areas, plenty of trail options to choose from. buy a discovery pass, they take card at the station or catch the nice ranger and pay cash. Also at the station they provide nice paper Topo maps for free. happy trails :)
Thank |I road brownie trail off of the Sylvia ridge trail. It was a blast pretty mellow ride up only a couple spots you have to push. It's pretty tight most of the trail and there are some technical root sections. There is a decent log drop right in the middle of the trail you almost don't see coming but it's got a really nice run out. Overall it was a fun but technical single track. Defiantly a good time.
Thank |My wife and I went to Silvia Ridge Loop this weekend while camping at Lake Silvia. We had a good time, and the trail was in pretty good shape. We started on the loop trail near the Dam at lake Silvia. When the trail met up with an intersection of trails, we headed left on the Hamby hill loop trail. It was a pretty intense trail for half of it. The south east side of the trail was a fun bit of needle covered switch backs under the cover of the trees. Lots of fun and fast. The other half, the northwest half was slick, steep and covered in dig outs like you would see on mountains roads that they don't want cars driving on. Overall a great ride.
A little caution for parts of the Silvia Ridge loop portion of the trail; many areas are very close to steep slopes, that can easily be ridden off of. Might help to have some shovel work done to combat erosion.* Review edited 9/18/2011
