Trail starts off somewhat technical, winding trough a maritime forest in a tight doubletrack. Then opens up for an emergency access road, turning back into the woods, where it is fairly easy, riding an old sand dune ridge. There is then a hard left, then a right, then it becomes difficult. You traverse old sand dunes riddled with live oak roots. Finally, you come out of the woods at the visitor's center for a casual ride back to the parking lot on the park road.

Park is at the southern terminas of U.S. 21. Enter park, pay fee, and go to parking lot J. Trail starts just off to the right of parking lot. Recommend a stop at the visitor's center, just past gate on right, for a map and other information.
