Mountain Biking Madonna Mountain

  Add a review
#992 of 1,004 mountain bike trails in California
#32,248 in the world

Madonna Mountain is an excellent system just outside of San Luis Obispo that is easily accessible from some streets in town! Along the mountain's base, intermediate XC provide a great opportunity to hammer out some miles. However, it isn't very hard to find something more extreme. Both Rock Garden Trail and the "M" Trail are rowdy, gnarly descents that will be a blast for even the most advanced gravity junkies.

Getting there
From Cambria Bicycle Outfitter in San Luis Obispo, head southwest down Monterey Street. Turn left at the intersection with Santa Rosa Street, and then turn right onto Marsh Street after two blocks. Follow Marsh Street across the Cabrillo Highway, and turn right onto Fernandez Lane just before Marsh Street merges onto the highway. A road should quickly appear to your right; take it and you will arrive at the parking lot.
