Troy Lee Design Says You Won’t Want to Take Their New A3 Helmet Off

The new A3 mountain bike helmet uses a MIPS Injection Molded Brain Protection System to deal with rotational impacts, and the side benefit of this new tech is that it foregoes the noisy yellow chunk of plastic in your helmet.

The trusty A2 from Troy Lee Designs has been wildly popular with mountain bikers over the years, and the brand claims that its successor is so comfortable you’ll never want to take it off.

The new A3 half-shell model uses a MIPS Injection Molded Brain Protection System to deal with rotational impacts, and the side benefit of this new tech is that it foregoes the noisy yellow chunk of plastic in your helmet. Direct impacts are managed by the two EPS layers, each designed to dissipate the energy of low or high-speed noggin bonks.

The three sizes and four colorways for the new A3 come with a Fidlock chin strap for easy gloved use, and an equally magnet-attached adjustable visor to make room for goggles or cameras. TLD claims that their sweat management keeps the droplets away from your eyes, while the antimicrobial Ionic padding is said to dry quickly.
