Specialized will have a fresh enduro team back on the circuit this year for both the EWS and the EWS-E. Their new team consists of Kevin Miquel (FRA), Charles Murray (NZL), Sofia Wiedenroth (GER), and Francescu-Maria Camoin (FRA).
“I am very proud of the team that we have put together for 2021 and beyond. You may have noticed our absence from the EWS over the last few seasons, but we took some time to learn from our previous experiences and we are ready to return with an exciting team,” said Benno Willeit, the MTB program manager at Specialized.
Specialized says that after their time out of the series, they realized it was important to be present in traditional enduro races, and they are looking forward to the e-bike races.
Francescu-Maria Camoin has ridden for Specialized for a few years and will race the S-Works Enduro – an obvious choice – and the Turbo Levo for the EWS-E rounds.
Miquel is racing on Specialized for the first year, though he has been laying down impressive EWS results since 2016. He finished 3rd overall in the series in 2019.
New Zealander Charles Murray is a usual top ten finisher at EWS races and Wiednroth joins after winning five German XCO titles.
The team will be supported by SRAM, RockShox, Roval, Renthal, Cush Core, 100%, Look, Supacaz, Retul, and Motorex.
The first EWS race on the calendar is in Canezei, Italy, starting June 23.
