Mountain Biking Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area

*****   Add a review
#144 of 301 mountain bike trails in New York

Small, but well built machine made trails . Mostly a middle-blue level set of trails. Very well built berms and bumps throughout. Just go right up the hill, and ride back down. You can drop the hammer and get some air, or just take your time. You can start at the bottom, at the tennis courts, or up a little ways (it has been a town park for a long time). At the second level is the one green trail, which is not made for beginners, but is a nice trail as it is. There are more miles on these trails than any maps - including the town trail map - currently show. Only drawback is its only about 3-3.5 miles but is worth a couple hours of fun.

This is a very well built set of trails . Although the trail signs show green, blue and black, I'd say it all blue. Nice machine built berms and bumps throughout. You basically ride up to the top, then fly down. There are really 2 trails up and down, one is a one way down, but is not truly black diamond level. The climb up is fun, and not too strenuous. There is even more new trail above what is shown on other maps including the town map! It is worth the stop, and is probably more than 3 miles - which is the only limiting factor on this being great. Also, very little for true beginners
