The Wheelie Wrench is a compact multi-tool with seventeen essential tools to keep your bike rolling after a mishap. All the tools fold into a compact form that fits in the palm of your hand. The smooth pebble-like design easily slides into a pocket or bag. It is a two-piece design. The metal piece with wrenches on it is held by magnets and a notched cutout in the tool. Although this specific tool can suffice as an all around bike multi-tool, Fix Manufacturing does make multi-tools specifically for mountain biking. Just make sure you pick the multi-tool that works best for your type of riding. Nonetheless, the multi-tool is worth considering due to the accessories it works with that Fix Manufacturing makes. 

All Time Belt

The All Time Belt is made of high quality nylon webbing and has a cam style aluminum buckle that firmly clamps the belt securely. It comes in two sizes — medium (36 in waist) and large (42 in waist). The belt works as it should and the cool part is that the buckle has a Payload Pocket to carry any compatible Fix Manufacturing multi-tool (sold separately). A patented spring mechanism keeps the multi-tool from flying out and the tool can be slid in and out with one hand. 

If you want to keep your multi-tool with you at all times, whether on or off the bike, then the All Time Belt is a handy accessory to have. I’d say paring this belt with the wheelie wrench and a Payload Pocket Tool Carry is an awesome combo to make the best use of the multi-tool throughout its life.

Payload Pocket 64mm Tool Carry

The Payload Pocket 64mm Tool Carry holster is made for Fix Manufacturing compatible tools, which are sold separately. The included titanium bolts screw straight to a bike frame’s standard water bottle cage mounts. The mount keeps the multi-tool in place through even the roughest of terrain. Bike manufacturers are now implementing top tube mounts for more accessory placement such as this, but if you only have one set of mounts being utilized by your water bottle cage, then the next product may catch your attention.

Pros and cons of the Fix Manufacturing multi-tool ecosystem

Pros

• High-quality materials

Cons

• There is not one single multi-tool that has it all, so you will still need to own various tools to have what is considered mountain bike essentials. (Tire Plug tool, Chain Breaker, Quick Link storage, etc.)

Bottom line

Fix manufacturing really thought out their whole easy-to-use ecosystem of bike tools and accessories. I’ve misplaced so many multi-tools in the past or shuffled through my bike bag trying to find them. With the All Time Belt and Payload Pocket Tool Carry I can always have a multi-tool at the ready. I may consider getting the more mountain bike oriented multi-tools they offer, but for now the Wheelie Wrench will suffice.
