“It appears there was four unique tornadoes, and there’s tens of thousands of trees down all over Bentonville,” said Ethan Edman, Director of Construction and Maintenance for the Trailblazers.
The four tornadoes hit shortly after midnight on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, when a supercell moved into Arkansas from Oklahoma, wreaking havoc across the region. As he explained the scale of the destruction, Uriah Nazario, Director of Soft-Surface Trails for the Trailblazers, said “we have thousands of tons of debris to remove on miles and miles of trails. It will take an army, and that is exactly what we have here.”
This new video from Oz Trails documents the tremendous outpouring of community support to clear the trails and get them opened for riding. As of the time of this writing, almost all the trails in Bentonville have been reopened for mountain biking.
It did take an army, but Bentonville got it done!
