It’s pretty great to see a complete mountain bike build that includes a SRAM GX Eagle Transmission drivetrain priced under $4,000 on sale. But to get it on the current generation Trek Fuel EX for that price? Bonkers!
There’s gotta be a catch here, and if we’re missing something please let us know in the comments. Yes, the frame is aluminum and not carbon, but you still get in-frame storage and the same progressive geo as the carbon versions. Plus, it’s available in two colors and seven (!) sizes.
Aside from the sweet drivetrain, the Trek Fuel EX 8 build includes a Fox Rhythm 36 fork with 150mm of travel, SRAM DB8 4-piston brakes, and a Bontrager dropper post with up to 170mm of travel.
It’s unclear how long this price will last. As of press time, all sizes are available for purchase. If your local Trek dealer doesn’t have one in stock, shipping within the US costs just $50.
- Price: $3,999.97 (normally $4,999.99)
