Specialized Stumpjumper 15, now available in aluminum alloy

The new Specialized Stumpjumper 15 mountain bike is now available in an aluminum alloy frame, with prices starting at $3,000 for a complete bike.

The Specialized Stumpjumper 15 trail bike with 150/140mm of suspension travel front/rear landed in July with all-new carbon models, and today the brand is extending the updated tech and geometry to more affordable aluminum alloy frames. Three complete alloy bikes are set to be available, or buyers can pick up a frameset and roll their own.

Naturally, the alloy Stumpjumper 15 models are less expensive than their carbon counterparts, but they generally offer the same geometry and feature set. The alloy Stumpjumpers feature in-frame downtube storage, adjustable geometry with six different configurations, and Fox GENIE suspension. Buyers also get “lifetime replacement of suspension pivot bearings to the original owner,” though it’s not clear if that’s just free bearings or if it also covers the labor to replace them.

Digging into the build specs, all models feature 12-speed Shimano drivetrains, either SLX or Deore depending on the price point. The Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Fox Coil Alloy build includes a Fox DHX Factory coil shock with a spring weight that varies depending on the frame size, from 400lb to 600lb. Weights for the builds range from 35.5lb to 37lb+, and a frameset alone weighs a hefty 9.5lb (weights are for size S4).

Pricing is as follows:

  • Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy: $3,000
  • Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Comp Alloy: $4,500
  • Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy Coil: $5,500
  • Specialized Stumpjumper 15 frameset: $2,300
