Founded in 1999, SixSixOne was one of the first brands dedicated to providing protective gear designed specifically for mountain biking. Now, it appears the brand has gone dark, with a headline on the website simply stating “Coming Soon.”

In fact, the brand has not posted on their official Instagram account since July. Several frustrated customers replied to that post asking about orders that had not been shipped. One customer wrote, “Going out of business?” with no reply. A recent Reddit discussion has raised similar questions.

Amazon and Cambria Bike still show SixSixOne products available for purchase, though all SixSixOne gear at Cambria Bike has been marked down by 40-80%.

Singletracks reached out to SixSixOne via email but did not receive a response as of press time. We will update this story with any additional information.

It has been a difficult time for the bike industry, with many iconic and longstanding brands like GT, Light & Motion, and Rocky Mountain restructuring or closing up shop altogether. Supply chain disruptions and whipsaw demand for bicycles and related products have left many companies struggling.
