If you have a minute this morning, head over to PeopleForBikes.org and sign the online petition. The group is working on “uniting a million voices to improve the future of biking” and big time bikers like Lance Armstrong, Dave Wiens, and Gary Fisher have already signed up.

And in case you think this is just for roadies or commuters don’t worry – you can specify that you’re a mountain biker so the politicians and media know how important bike trails are to their constituents. Looks like I’m #17,682 so there’s a long way to go but it isn’t tough to imagine a million bikers will eventually sign on. Think of it as the 2010 cycling census – stand up and be counted!
