Allentown is hosting a slew of bike races on Sunday including the first ever Tour de Brew Fat Tire Crit. Competitors will ride through a bar/restaurant from back to front as patrons and race sponsors look on while munching on burgers and sipping brews.

The race is even a US Cycling Federation sanctioned event and, believe it or not, it's not the first sanctioned race with an indoor component (through it is the first through a bar that's open for business). The first such race actually routed riders through a barn which really doesn't seem nearly as exciting.

Bar owners have agreed to install a no-slip surface on the floor and they're taking precautions by padding everything along the inside route. There's even a rule about passing inside the bar (not allowed) and any rider who crashes during the warm up or race will be pulled from the competition.

Sounds awesome, who's up for a road trip?

A rocky landscape featuring a smooth granite surface with patches of green vegetation around the edges. In the foreground, a large log is positioned on the rock, and a faint path winds across the terrain leading into the background, where lush trees are visible. Overcast skies create a soft, muted light in the scene.

Allentown is hosting a slew of bike races on Sunday including the first ever Tour de Brew Fat Tire Crit. Competitors will ride through a bar/restaurant from back to front as patrons and race sponsors look on while munching on burgers and sipping brews.

The race is even a US Cycling Federation sanctioned event and, believe it or not, it's not the first sanctioned race with an indoor component (through it is the first through a bar that's open for business). The first such race actually routed riders through a barn which really doesn't seem nearly as exciting.
