This group is for mountain bikers in the Firelands area of Ohio. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Fancy gear is always acceptable, but not necessary or overly encouraged.
The group will predominantly gather in the evenings for after work rides, probably on Thursdays. Since we don't have much in the way of trails of our own, most meet ups will be to the east, at Findley State Park in Wellington, Royalview Trail System in Strongsville, Reagan/Huffman Parks in Medina, and East Rim Trail in Cuyahoga National Park. Other possibilities include Bedford Reservation and Vulture's Knob.
If trail conditions prevent riding in those locations, we may ride our very own Castalia Quarry, or The North Coast Inland Trail.
Weekend day rides may also be organized in the future at places like Mohican State Park or Pinckney State Recreaction Area. If there is enough interest, full weekend rides at Brown County or Allegrippis Trails could also follow. Week long trips are possible as well to places like Burke, VT, Brevard, NC, Crested Butte, CO, Moab, UT, Whitefish, MT, or... well, you get the point.
The long term goal is to generate enough interest to build and maintain our own trail system in a local park!
