Does your shop offer mountain bike rentals? Road, Hybrid, and Mountain rentals vary in price from $30 to $45 per day depending on model and length of rental.
Goodale's isn't the bike shop it once was and was for much of the 30 years I've been riding. They've grown too busy and too big and their service department quality has suffered because of it.
I bought a Trek Fuel EX7 from them last year, and have had nothing but a series of problems with it from day one, because the drivetrain wasn't setup right at the time of the sale, with lots of rubbing of the chain in the front derailleur and sloppy rear shifting, and Goodale's was unable to adjust it in three visits over a six month follow-on period.
My problems with their work grew after this poor initial setup work led to premature chain failure, a visit to fix it, and because of sloppy work two more chain breaks. Follow-on work to the tune of $200 caused problems with the front and rear derailleurs and a front shifter failure, which leaves me not only with an inoperable bike, but also needing to have the bike overhauled, buying a new shifter and like replacing the front and rear derailleurs.
I recently bought my first mountain bike from this shop, my experience was good while buying the bike. Rep answered all the questions I had. Then within couple of week, while riding on a mountain trail, I had an accident (not too bad) but was enough to damage the bike rear wheel. I had not opt for the Trek care plan while buying the bike (you have 60 days to go for it). After the accident I took the bike to the shop and told them what happened. Without any arguments mechanic told me that they would try to fix it and if they could not then they would replace the wheel, with no cost. That was relief and I was delighted with the service....I would definitelty recommend this shop.. In fact couple of my friends bought their bike from the same shop after me......
Definitely friendly. Lots of inventory. But if you're looking for high end gear this isn't the place. It's a Trek/Specialized/ Cannondale type of place. Shop is good for that level bike but I wouldn't bring in anything higher end.
Great bunch of guys working there, very knowledgable and helpful. They seem like they really want to help you find exactly what you need rather than pushing the most expensive thing. Service after the purchase is just as great, they take care of their customers. Prices might be a littler higher than elsewhere, but when you take into account everything you come out miles ahead. I've only bought from the Nashua store, but I'm sure the others have the same high standards.

Thank |Store and staff are great but there are a few bone heads spinning wrenches when it gets busy. If you use them, go when it is offseason
Thank |Always friendly and informative.
