Does your shop offer mountain bike rentals? The store does rent bikes. I can't speak for the other kinds of bikes, but the mtb are fair but reasonably price. Much below US prices per day.
Service pricing increased significantly a few weeks ago. I guess I'll have to go elsewhere for service now. There are a couple of better mechanics in the city who charge much less. I'll still try to find ways to support this store. The owner, Joel, is a good man, trying his best in a difficult business environment.
Update from my first review. This year the shop is carrying much better models of Trek bikes, including the Fuel Ex, Slash, Superfly, X Caliber 9, Farley Fatbike. Most are in the 5 and 7 models of these bikes, not the higher ends. But that makes sense for Mongolia at this point as Mongolians are learning about mountain biking. Many of these models are available for rent also with good hourly options ($7-8 per hour for the better bikes) and daily rates (around $30 to $40 USD for the better bikes). This is substantially more expensive than in the past for rentals, but these are substantially better bikes also. It's fun to see this store continue to advance the quality of bikes, bike parts and assessories in Mongolia. Not quite ready to give the shop 4 stars, but it's getting close.
This is the best all around LBS in UB imo. They sell Trek bikes. New bike prices are high compared to other countries, but that just comes with the territory in Mongolia. Rental prices are low -- about $10/day or $15 for overnight. They do sell their rental fleet used each year, so you can get a much discounted price on a bike this way. The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic and growing in their knowledge and expertise. They have a limited supply of parts and accessories, and again prices are high. The mechanics are fairly good. Service fees are low.
