Mountain Biking 8th Street Motorcycle Trail

****   Add a review
#45 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
#3,600 in the world

This is steep, rocky and sandy. You must be able to control your bike in sand. The motorcycles cut this trail up fairly good for the first half. Second half is more of what you would expect to find as far as a Mountain Bike trail. This is a fun ride with a lot of challenges.

Take 8th st. or Rocky Canyon Rd. North up into the Foothills of Boise all the way to the top. This is not a 4x4 drive only but it will toss you around a little. Once you get to the top, drive along the ridge untill you see the trailhead marked #4 This is the 8th Street Motorcycle Trail

I have to agree with these guys, I was heading down the western slope down the topp accross the woop/de/dooooos and front tire hit the sand and lonched me head first into the side of the trail where it's "VERY HARD" cracked my helmet and knocked me out for a few. But every other time it's ben a lot of fun down, very tough going up.

This trail can be loose and rutted from the motos, but it is still fun because of all of the whoops and berms. Best done as a shuttle. Watch for motos on your way down

It's a long drive to the top of the trail, but well worth it. Great views and a fast trail. It is rocky and loose in sections and steep most of the way down.
