Mountain Biking Addison Oaks

****   Add a review
#16 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan
#762 in the world

A scenic 794-acre park in northeast Oakland County with two lakes, spring fed ponds, and a wide variety of wooded terrain. The bike trail are substantially updated and maintained by Pauly the TC there and MMBA members. This trail is a nice flowing trail with lots of speed and some nice climbs to get your heart going. It is also know for it's bridges that cross many springs, and lowland areas. Because of it's climbs it may be one of the fastest trail in southeast Michigan. This trail drains really well after a hard rain and can be ridden right after a hard rain with no damage to the trail. The trail is also home to races every year one in the spring and in the fall. Also it has become part of a new Massive group ride(massivefallout.org) held every fall that covers all four of the trails in the Rochester area.( Addison Oaks, Bald MTN Rec, Stony Creek, and Bloomer)

Addison is one of the best keep secrets in Southeast Michigan.

Fast fun trail with plenty of man made obstacles. Could have had better berms though. They were almost nonexistent and made keeping speed hard.

Smooth flowy singletrack with very few roots. Some tight twisty fun sections. A couple of easy rock piles thrown to give it some technicality. Easy climbs and oh...the beautiful scenery. You can ride the whole thing in the big ring. Can't wait to go back!

After the wind storm last week, there are still quite a few trees and branches that need to be cleaned up, but other than that, the trail is in very good condition.

I am a beginner only my 2nd trail. It really flows nice. As beginner I learned how important it is to manage your gearing so you keep moving. I had some issues with a few climbs due to soft ground and poor gearing. I say this only so that beginners know its ok to learn on this track

Awesome trail, we rode it on a full suspension tandem and a novice 12 yr.old stoker , we made it, tricky at times, couple of falls but, it handled well. Lots of technical climbs, fast descents. If your a tandemer, gotta do it. Just as fun on a regular mtb.

Rode on 6/16/2017 and the trail is in great shape. Still is a fun trail with great mix of uphill/downhill.

Rode it for the first time today, and was definitely impressed. The park costs $5 to get into, so bring some cash. The trail is well maintained, and a mix of beginner/intermediate terrain with a lot of fast flowing trail, with some rock gardens, handful of roots, and a couple of steep downhills at the end. Lots of great bridges to keep you out of the muck. Was very surprisingly impressed by this place, definitely worthwhile checking out.

Fun trail with really cool view and bridges, I love the lake view right before the wall, some signage issues but you will still find your way. Rode Friday night 4/21/17 and there are 5 large trees down across the trail in the first 3 miles. The back half was clear.

Still have trees obstructing the trail, a little less wet condition, this trail is my gateway drug to more advanced trails

One of the best maintained trails in the state - the trail crew from Oakland Co. parks is always on top of things and as a result it is just a fantastic and fast ride. A must-ride anytime I'm in the area and I'll make a point to do the race each fall.
