Mountain Biking Aptos Fire Road
#119 of 1,004 mountain bike trails in California
Follow fire road east as it rolls along maximum 3% till Bottom of incline at about 4 miles. Incline ranges from 4 to 10% for couple of miles and then at top of Incline it backs off to max 7% up to Sand Point at 9 miles and 1600 feet. A lot of people never go past here there is a nice view on a clear day with benchs. Road gets pretty steep on and off after this sometimes reaching 28%. 12.5 is Overlook and the top also the Entrance on Demo if your doing the Big Ride. If not turn around for a 12.5 downhill which is never a bad thing.

Hwy 1 to State Park Drive over freeway and right on Soquel Drive left on Aptos Creek Road. Pay and park past Kiosk.
Great trail.
Thank |So whats the difference between this and the one listed as "Big Ride"?
Thank |Good climb with great scenery as you ride through the redwood forest. Nothing technical. Just a really good fire road.
Thank |Pretty if your into that sort of thing nuck nuck.
Thank |The singletrack is good the fire road is a beautiful fire road but it is still a fire road. If you add Old Growth and Pig the day is a 10.
Thank |Down at the bottom single track is legal up to the metal bridge. Many differant levels of riders on any given day.
