Mountain Biking Arizona Trail: Passage 42 Kaibab Plateau North
#267 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
This passage of the AZT is mostly singletrack with some two-track mixed in. It runs through ponderosa pine forest and pinon-juniper woodland. It is mostly rolling country with very little tech. The riding is pedally fast. All in all, the riding is average. Maybe the greatest asset of this trail is that it connects you to Passage 43 of the AZT which has great riding.

From the intersection of Hwy 89A and 67 in Jacob Lake, head east on Hwy 89A for 2.3 miles. The AZT crosses the highway here, and Passage 42 begins on the north side of the highway. There is parking on the dirt roads on both sides of the highway.
This is a fun enough trail as an XC trail, but the real fun begins in Passage 43.
