Ridden as a shuttle or accessed from the Tahoe Rim Trail, this trail is fun!! It is typically ridden in one direction, beginning with a climb to the top of the pass, and then it is downhill from there. It has some technical sections and fun granite rock, with beautiful meadows at the end.
Drove up Horse Meadow off of Hwy 89. Did the climb to the top of the pass where the trail crosses TRT. Then the long downhill on Armstrong, Armstrong Connector, Corral, and Railroad back home. Nice downhill run - and with a shuttle drop off, not a bad trade: 1 mile of uphill for 12 miles of downhill.
