From Whitefish, take Hwy 93 west go 10 miles, turn on Farm-to-Market Rd go 1.5 miles, turn onto the Star Meadow Road (FS Rd #539) and go about 17 miles turn onto FS Rd #538 go 5 miles turn onto FS Rd #9784 go 2.5 miles. The trailhead is limited to 2 vehicles and is near a private driveway with a gate. The upper trailhead is at Ashley Peak behind a locked gate.
