This trail was created for mountain biking, but is open to hikers. The start of the trail is a short steep section with a couple of switch backs. The trail splits at the top, both ways are about the same distance and they come back together shortly. The trail the follows the ridge until it gets to a radio tower, then starts back down toward the creek. here it splits again. you can either choose downhill (better for hikers) or Roller Coaster(great for bikers). At the bottom, you follow the creek. this is the highlight of the trail. You follow the creek all the way back close to the parking lot. This is the most senic part. The park has restrooms. The trailhead is on the left as you enter the park.
Rode the rail in 90 degree heat. The trail is easy except for the steep climb and drop at the end. I think it has more roots than the B&O Railroad has rail ties. But I think I'd make it an early intermediate class over an easy. But fun and a bit of work.
Thank |Good trail for a quick run. Lots of roots make it a bit of a challenge for a short ride. I like taking the trail backwards and end in the trailhead parking lot.
Thank |I'm actually a Mountain Unicyclist not a Biker. Not sure if this is relevant for this site but I find the trail of satisfactory difficulty and length. Some easy going areas as well as some challenges thrown in the mix
Thank |The Trail was fun but needed some maintenance. There were several places could only do walking. There were several people jogging and walking dogs.
Thank |A bit of a steep climb at the start but only about .2 mi. Some good down hill. a couple of good switchbacks and a Gnarly 20' drop/Jump that goes between 2 trees at the bottom. Hit it straight or hit a big tree. (HARD)
