Mountain Biking Arizona Trail: ATV / Tucson
#188 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
Very fun and scenic trail, 1800' climbing. The ATV trails have lots of tech and oversized whoops. Not well known but fun and tough. AZ Trail section is great. Camera suggested. 5-10 degrees cooler than Tucson. There's a hidden lake just right and across Bellota Rd about 100 yards past the road. Makes it a good dog loop. Stairs of Pain climb is .26 mile of brutal.

Ride starts at the Staging Area 8 miles up Reddington Pass. Head north out the back of Staging parking. At .2 miles go right on ATV track crossing Bellota Ranch Rd continue past Reddington Rd. .2 mile past the road go left up steep ramp. Continue paralleling the road till 3.5 mile point in ride. There turn left at junction, cross road and hit AZ Trail. It also continues behind to Saguaro National Park. Next is a 1 mile climb up to the ridge, about 4800'. Last 1/4 mile is tough. Beyond that is 4 miles of mostly descending sweet singletrack. At Bellota Ranch Rd turn left and climb 2 miles to Reddington Rd and turn right .5 mile to Staging Area. It' s also possible to continue past Bellota on the AZ Trail to Milagrosa Trail.
Sorry directions I listed the park as Rincon NP, it's Saguaro National Park East but the mountain is Rincons. This ride also contains the difficult .26 mile Stairs of Pain. If you can clean it you're an expert.
