Mountain Biking Ayer to Nashua Rail Trail
#190 of 223 mountain bike trails in Massachusetts
This bike path is a rail trail from Ayer Mass. to Nashua N.H., 11 miles. While I used to inline skate, I known find double and single tracks off the asphalt. All tracks are green with no major difficulties.
Beginning from Pepperell Ctr. Go north. Once out of town, there are a number of double and single tracks available off to the left.. There are fun rollers on a track by the Nashua River.
Going south from the Ctr. are double and single tracks off to the right. Here roots are more abundant.
These tracks are all very easy with no major obstacles. There are some streams you may need to cross. The south routes are horse trails too.

Begin your ride is best from Pepperell Ctr. From the North, take the 111 from Nashua through Hollis to Mass. and the rotary. Go left onto 113 to Pepperell Ctr. Park on the diagonal after going by the dam.
From the south, take the 2 East or west to get 111 north through Ayer and Groten to rotary and right onto 113 to Center.
All of this trail, north and south of Pepperell Ctr is very easy. There are no drops or jumps. Rollers north; roots south. A very easy green trail,
