A narrow dirt path winding through a lush forest, surrounded by tall trees and greenery. Large rocks are scattered along the trail, and the ground is a mix of dirt and foliage, suggesting a natural hiking route. Baldy Trail mountain bike trail.

Just rode Baldy for the first time in well over a year. WOW, the trail is amazing. The BC volunteers have realigned the trail and done a fantastic job. They have bypassed the worst parts of the trail. The reroute is quite a bit longer, and has several supported turns and also some fun gnar added. You can tell that the reroute is not going to accumulate a bunch of deep scree either. Suddenly (for me), Baldy has become a worthy downhill and a 4 star trail.

It seems the scree is getting deeper on Baldy. =(

Very nice climb. I could climb Baldy and bomb down Gashouse all day long. Very fun loop.

I had a great time on the trail. It was a little soft so be careful on those fast turns. I was on the trail at 630 am and was the only one. It was a beautiful day and the trail was very well maintained. A few drop offs off of the trail if you snoop around. It's a great trail with a gradual slope.

Sweet rolling singletrack and probably most popular in Buffalo Creek.

Nice trail that takes you to the best of Bufalo Creek.

Baldy is a narrow singletrack that climbs about 900 feet in the 3 miles of trail - a pretty gradual climb for the front range. The surface is mostly the crushed gravel that's typical of buffalo creek. It's easy to avoid most spots where there the sand/gravel gets deep enough to steal your climbing momentum. The trail winds thru the woods, keeping you in the shade most of the way so it's easy to stay cool. There are nearly zero technical challenges to grunt over on the climb, keeping the high effort pedal strokes to a minimum. Overall this is a pretty decent way for someone with tired legs to climb back to the top for more descending.

Rode this trail after about 18 miles of connecting other loops and getting lost. By this time, my legs were getting noodleey and I was getting sick of uphills! It isn't so bad considering there were worst uphills on this trail-- Gashouse for example- which we rode part of. You can't complain, uphills are a part of the BC system. You've got to go up in order to go down!

I rode it uphill, so I can't really give it any more than 3 stars... But it was a nice climb; strenuous yes, but I'm sure better than the alternative which would be climbing gashouse.
Next time I'll change up my loop and descend it; seems like it would be a sweet downhill.

Be ready for a whole lot of climbing. There's a decent amount of technical riding, but not all that much. There are some fun rock sections, but your legs will be pretty thrashed by the time you get there. The descents are worth it, though.

This trail is a tough climb with some cool slickrock sections thrown in. However, if you are climbing, I suggest looping around on Gashouse Gulch, and, if you are descending, dropping down Charlie’s Cutoff and Sandy Wash.
