Mountain Biking Barracks Lane
#183 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
Some great single track can be accessed from two trailheads - The Barracks Lane Trailhead and the Cheney Trailhead. Trails here travel in the foothills of the Lemhi Mtn. Range.
Trails litter this area and it is fun to explore all the cow and game trails.
At this point in time there are two main rides here; The Rippey Spring Loop and Mulkey Creek.
Rippey Spring is a lollipop ride of mostly singletrack. Mulkey Creek is an out-and-back (though it can be looped once you are familiar with some of the other trails).

There are two trailheads that access this trail system.
The first is the Barracks Lane Trailhead. 8 miles Southeast of Salmon on ID28. Follow the signs and look for the billboards of right-wing-propaganda. Turn south there, the trailhead is a mile or so down this gravel road.
The second is the Cheney Trailhead. Take ID28 10 SE of Salmon to the small town of Baker. Hang a right at the Solaas B&B then take the next left onto the Old Baker Highway. After 100yds or so bear right onto the Withington Creek Road. The Cheney Trailhead is about 2.5 miles on this road.
