I didn't ride the whole loop but the part I rode after Bearclaw Poppy was rocky and fun. Loved the barrel cacti in the area.

The Barrel Trail in the Green Valley area is not to be confused with the Barrel Roll trail in the nearby Santa Clara Preserve. They are two completely different trails.

The Barrel Trail makes an excellent 6 mile loop (with many opportunities to extend the ride by connecting to other area trails) that has a moderate climb with occasional technical bits and then follows with some excellent, rocky technical descent and finishes with some man made features from moderate to extreme (all with ride arounds).

The trail is an absolute hoot for an advanced or expert rider and even suitable for a strong intermediate who knows when to dismount and walk.

The fun bang for effort buck ratio on this trail is very high. Highly recommended for anybody looking for good variety and a plethora of fun features in an accessible ride.
