Mountain Biking Baumberger

****   Add a review
#90 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
#3,238 in the world

The front part is mostly smooth trail with a few loops and nice down hill section. If you cross over the old paved road a the back near the bird sanctuary there is another loop or two and then toward the back is the creekbed. If you cross over there is a technical section that is newly developed and difficult that takes you over to a not yet developed Park off Hausman road.

Single track. Great integral part of a larger Leon Creek creek/parks system. I like to park here, do a couple warm up laps on the .3m paved loop, then drop in the trail head between the two big rocks near the entrance to the parking lot. I ride the loop (as seen in the video I posted here), but cut right at the creek bottom the second time through....this takes you out to Old Babcock Rd., turn left on the Road and look for the first trailhead into "birds of prey" wildlife sanctuary on the right where there is another 3-4 miles of loops you can make before you cut back through Bamberger along the perimeter on more singletrack that takes you under Babcock overpass toward Bandera and back for a 16m ride.

Has a nice steep hill you can dive bomb!

Wherever you start your Leon Creek ride, you should add this section to your ride, it flows nicely, has some rocky areas that you drift on if you are going fast enough.
