Mountain Biking Beavertale Trail
#93 of 99 mountain bike trails in Maryland
This is single track and while there are no jumping skills required, there are a couple of rocky/rooty sections that require control of your bike. The climbs are moderate as well as the descents with a few rollers mixed in for flavor.
The trail begins across the street from the Beach Drive entrance to Lake Needwood and runs along the like for about a quarter mile, before you make a right hand turn onto the connector. What follows as a mostly flow trail that has enough stones to use as kickers (if you're really skilled) but mellow enough for a beginning rider. It's short but fun and goes underneath MD 200 (the Intercounty Connector) before reaching Muncaster Rd. Crossing the street, you have a short way to go before connecting to the Upper Rock Creek Trail.
