Mountain Biking Bender Creek
#62 of 265 mountain bike trails in Montana
Once the singletrack starts, there is another mile of climbing. It's starts out pretty technical, then gets "easier" after the first section. Very rocky is some sections, but it's all climbable.
Just before the three mile mark from the lower parking lot (or one mile from the start of the singletrack) the trail begins the first descent. Enjoy the 1/2 mile descent with plenty of roots and rocks. After that short descent, the trail starts to climb again. This time it's short-ish, punchy climbs with some technical parts but easier than the beginning of the singletrack.
After another 1.5 miles of climbing, you begin your 2.6 mil descent. Plenty of turns, rocks, creek crossings and jumps (if you choose.)
After that rip-roaring descent, you'll come out to a parking lot, turn right and then turn left when you get to the road and ride 1.2 miles back to the lower parking lot.

From Monarch, take Hughesville road east for 8.5 miles (all gravel). Turn right on the unnamed gravel road and cross the wide, but shallow, creek. Find a parking spot and start riding up the road (you can shuttle if you have the vehicles, 4x4 highly recommended/required.)
The singletrack will be about 2 miles up the fire road. There will be a clearing on both sides, the trail is on the left. There are signs.
